The Biggest Balloon in Baltics
The biggest hot air balloon in Baltic states took off for the first time in Vilnius Vingis park on 16 May 2007. This is one of the newest purchase of Ballooning Centre and the biggest balloon in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. Hot air balloon is called DnB NORD. It was made by “Kubicek Balloons”, Czeck Republic.
DnB NORD balloon is 21,1 m height, 20,7 m diameter. Balloon volume is 4500 m³ and is equal to a big sports hall. More than 400 people could comfortably sit in the balloon. Balloon envelope was made of more than 1400 m² special fabric – polyester. You could do a 1,4 km red carpet with such amount of material.
Maximum take off weight of the balloon is almost 1,5 tones. This is like a a weight of a normal car. In summer time balloon may take pilot and 6 passengers on board. In winter time pilot and 8 passengers may fly in the balloon.
