10 Years to Ballooning Centre
International Hot Air Balloon Regatta “STATOIL CUP 2007 – 10 Years to Ballooning Centre” is going to take place in Vilnius, capital of Lithuania, 24 – 27 May, 2007. This probably will be the largest and the most interesting hot air balloon Event in Lithuania.
24 colorful hot air balloons will decorate the sky of Vilnius and Trakai. Furthermore, an impressive Night Glow and Parade will be held at the White Bridge on 25 May 2007. A record flight of 35 balloons with 82 commercial passengers from France is planned on 26 May, 2007 in Trakai.
STATOIL Company is the General Sponsor of the Event. That’s why the competition is dedicated to STATOIL Company in 2007. Hot Air Balloon pilots will have to get as close as possible to the announced goals during 5 flights and achieve the best results.
“STATOIL CUP 2007 – 10 Years to Ballooning Centre” is the 8th hot air balloon Event, organized by Ballooning Centre in Lithuania. “Eurocentras ‘97”, which was organized 10 years ago and was the first balloon event, was recognized as ballooning renaissance in Lithuania. 13th European Hot Air Balloon Championship 2003 was a great Event both for Lithuanians and European hot air balloon pilots.
